Introduction to Wild Mushroom Identification

Have you ever been curious about how to identify mushrooms safely?

This program is designed to introduce beginners to the identification of wild foraged mushrooms to be sure they are not poisonous. This program covers: needed equipment, references to use, and how to go about putting names to mushrooms found in our area. If desired, people can bring mushrooms they find to be identified after the presentation is over.

Community-led Learning Presenter Bio: Phil has been a member of the local mushroom club, the Fungus Federation, since its founding in 1984. He has been a club officer nearly every year since then and for the past 20+ years, and has acted as the Science Advisor for mushroom identification.
