Join Professor Nicholas Rowell and counselor Anna Zagorska for a conversation on the challenges international students face, from global politics to campus life. Awards at 6pm & lecture at 6:30pm.
Join us for a lively conversation between Nicholas Rowell, Professor of Political Science, at Cabrillo College, and Anna Zagorska, Cabrillo College International Student Counselor. They’ll explore contemporary challenges facing international students and put them into a historical context. They’ll examine how global geopolitical tensions, immigration policies, and campus-level constraints shape the academic and personal lives of students studying in the U.S. today.
On February 17th at 5:30 prior to the “Crossing Borders” event, the Aptos High Students, will receive awards for the Art Competition. Their objective was to redesign the Spare Parts book jackets. Judged by the owners of Two Birds Books, the focus was on creating a powerful design that would catch customers’ attention and represent the content. A video loop will display all submissions. This is always an impressive effort and shouldn’t be missed.
At the same time, the student Robotics team will have their robots on display and will be there to discuss their designs. Come support the students and stay for the discussion about the challenges facing international students in today’s political climate which will begin at 6:30.
