Community Emergency Response Team (CERT): An Introduction

September is National Preparedness Month, making it a great time to learn how you can better prepare for emergencies and help build a more resilient community. Presented by Dave Hood of La Selva Beach CERT, a neighborhood team of Santa Cruz County CERT, this introductory class offers an overview of the Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) program and the skills that help individuals respond safely and effectively during disasters. Participants will learn about the role of CERT volunteers, personal and family preparedness, basic disaster response principles, and more. No prior experience is required, making this class a great first step for anyone interested in emergency preparedness or exploring full CERT training.
