Dyslexia Awareness Storytime & Activity

Celebrate different ways of learning and experiencing the world with a special storytime focused on dyslexia awareness.

We’ll read A Walk in the Words and Wiggling Words, two engaging picture books that help children understand that reading can look and feel different for everyone.

Following the stories, children will participate in a fun, hands-on activity exploring the movement and visual qualities of letters and words. We’ll finish with a creative craft that encourages children to express themselves and celebrate their own unique way of seeing the world.

This program provides an age-appropriate introduction to dyslexia while fostering empathy, inclusion, and a positive attitude toward different learning styles. Families will leave with a greater understanding that everyone learns differently—and that those differences are something to celebrate!
