It's About Time - Great Moments in Timekeeping History

Explore the fascinating history of clocks and watches, from railroad time zones to Captain Cook's voyages. See historic Aptos timepieces and bring your own clock or watch to discuss.

An exhibit of unique and significant clocks and watches will punctuate this presentation which will explore transformative milestones in clocks and watchmaking.
How did railroad pocket watches help to create time zones?  How did reliable ship-going clocks make it possible for Captain Cook to travel the seven seas safely?
The exhibits will include three elaborate pocket watches that belonged to figures central to Aptos History.

Attendees are invited to bring along any old watches or clocks they would like to learn more about.
